Excerpt: Giving In To Charity by Nancy O'Berry Mainstream Romance: Historical/Period ISBN: 978-1-60435-360-0 Red Rose Publishing Bookstrand His gaze turned toward her, the green of Tobias' eyes now velvet in color, their heat deepened. If she hadn't known her effect on him a few minutes ago, she did now. Something brazen rose within her chest. Drawn to him for a reason she could not explain, Charity realized she wanted him. A deep emotion so pure it went beyond lust. Tobias, her man. The words seemed fitting. "You are always so quiet, so in control. Tell me, Mr. Meriwether, what would you do if that was removed?" Her fingers brushed the dampness of his lips. He grabbed her hand and placed her palm against them. "First, I'd tell you to stop calling me Mr. Meriwether." She shuddered with delight feeling his tongue slip out, dragging up her open palm. Her breasts strained against the fabric of her chemise. Charity found herself hungry for what this man could give her. More than hungry. Starved. She drew her hand away, brought it to her own lips, and slid her tongue where his had traveled only moments ago. Then, arching her back, she stretched upon the ground. "Tobias." Her voice sounded thick and husky. Her hands traced down her torso, pressing her flesh together then skimming down the flat plains of her waist to the gathering of material at her hips. She looked up. He hovered above her, blocking the sun. His eyes focused on her lips, her coy smile, the signal that it was indeed his pleasure she sought. He leaned down. She placed her hands to his chest and with open palms explored the flesh beneath the cloth. Charity's fingers inched toward his tie. She grasped the end, gave a tug, and it fell free. "I want to taste you, Tobias. I want to know what it feels to become intoxicated with your kisses." His cheek pulled back, and she dampened her lips in response. Tobias groaned, and with a swift motion his mouth took possession of hers. To kiss Tobias was like holding a match to a wick. Charity's body erupted in flames. His lips caressed and teased her mouth. All the while, her hand loosened the tie at his throat. Then the expert fingers released the buttons, and to her delight, he wore nothing beneath. Charity moaned and slid her fingers against his taut abdomen adorned with silken hairs. Tension just below her belly twisted, tightening, sending a slow burn between her legs. She arched, pulling his body closer. His elbow eased to the ground beside her head, and Tobias stretched against her length. |
